Alysson Thomas
MA, Licensed Mental Health Counselor
It’s hard to make time for yourself—I am so glad you’re here now!
I work with people who know something isn't working anymore.
Maybe you recognize yourself here:
You tell people you're "fine" because you don't know how to explain what's really going on.
You find yourself snapping at your kids or partner more than you'd like.
You fantasize about being alone, even if only for a little while.
You wonder what it would feel like to wake up looking forward to the day.
If that's you, you're in the right place.
What it’s like to work with me
The goal of my work is to have the therapeutic relationship change your relationship with yourself.
Maybe you can relate–you have talked with empathetic friends, you’ve searched for journal prompts using AI, you enjoy reading self-help books—but you’ve felt their limitations. The therapeutic relationship goes beyond this, because change happens most readily in relationship–in a non-judgmental place with feedback, questions, reflection–a place to unpack your feelings in real-time. I offer thoughtful questions, can gently challenge old narratives, and help you notice patterns in the moment.
I know firsthand how difficult it can be to find space to hear yourself think. The accountability to show up for yourself and be in a therapeutic relationship can contain some of what feels so uncontained in daily life. Whether you're navigating an unexpected life event or untangling patterns that have been with you for years, I offer a space where you can slow down, make sense of what's happening, and discover new ways of relating to yourself and others.
